Noise, spirituality and destruction – YHWH Nailgun back in the Czech Republic, this time in the dark grip of the club.
After a hypnotic performance at last year’s Transforma festival, YHWH Nailgun return to the Czech Republic – this time to Subzero (formerly known as Underdogs’ Ballroom), where their raw energy shines through in a more intimate setting.
YHWH Nailgun is a project on the edge of noise rock, industrial deployment and spiritually tuned destruction. Their sound is reminiscent of the best of the Swans, Daughters or Health tradition, but with a ritualistic urgency and rawness all their own. The band works with dense, drone-layered guitars, punchy rhythms and vocals that oscillate between whispers and sermons. Behind the project are members of the Chicago and Los Angeles alternative scene – with ties to collectives around The Smell and DIY labels like Hausu Mountain.
