Between hell and heaven. American Shearling accompanied by Allarme and Alpha Strategy are heading to Dejvice.

Manic energy and music that doesn’t take any guff. The founders of Sprain – Alexander Kent and Sylvie Simmons – have poured their creative energy into Shearling and plunged into the depths of noise rock, glitch experiments, sound collages, improvisations and drones with a new dose of determination. With their debut album Motherfucker, I am Both: “Amen” and “Hallelujah”… they will head to Dejvice’s Klubovna on September 18th accompanied by Poland’s Allarme, local Alpha Strategy and under the auspices of Heartnoize.

Shearling’s first album is given the peppy title Motherfucker, I am Both: “Amen” and “Hallelujah”… and takes the audience on a wild journey into post-rock purgatory and the spiritual heights of minimalist folk and microtonal drones. The more than hour-long album is a single track that shifts and ventures into new positions with each passing minute. Without the backing of a major label or powerful PR agencies, the record inevitably spreads through the online space and in the words of one reviewer on community portal RYM (where the album is in the top twenty of the year), “This shit rules, check it out.”

Along with Shearling, Poland’s Allarme have hit the road. Their melancholic coldwave fused with noise and post-punk can be both touching and properly angry. The Czech-Canadian band Alpha Strategy revels in noise and dissonance combined with punk straightforwardness. Not only with their latest album Staple My Hand to Yours, they went to America to Steve Albini’s studio, and their live shows tend to be very wild.
