Prague debut
Angolan producer based in Europe Nazar, released his debut album Guerrilla in 2020 under the UK label Hyperdub (which hosts names such as Burial, aya or Loraine James). Pulsating beats, sounds of airstrikes and loading of guns are mixed together with rhythms of kuduro β uptempo music and dance from his homeland. βItβs like a bank of information for me β if I play the album, then I remember,β Nazar explains for The Guardian why he comes back to stories from the Angolan war in his work. βThe more I know about my history, the more centred I feel.β
