𝕊̌𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕊𝕋 #𝟚 Presented by Heartnoize Promotion
The second club night from the ŠELEST series will bring together gabber, techno, kuduro and global club music selection. After the shows of MC Yallah or Slikback – Nazar, Osheyack and Flora Yin Wong are coming to Prague all in one night. On the 25th of June, the main floor of Fuchs2 will become home to music that tells stories about the civil war in Angola as well as tones inspired by American social theorist Michael Warner.
𝗡𝗔𝗭𝗔𝗥 [live, Hyperdub]
Angolan producer based in Europe Nazar, released his debut album Guerrilla in 2020 under the UK label Hyperdub (which hosts names such as Burial, aya or Loraine James). Pulsating beats, sounds of airstrikes and loading of guns are mixed together with rhythms of kuduro — uptempo music and dance from his homeland. „It’s like a bank of information for me – if I play the album, then I remember,“ Nazar explains for The Guardian why he comes back to stories from the Angolan war in his work. „The more I know about my history, the more centred I feel.“
𝗢𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗬𝗔𝗖𝗞 [live, SVBKVLT]
SVBKVLT member Osheyack will bring to Czechia his premiere live set along with an upcoming album ‘Intimate Publics’, which is due out on June 8th. His work fuses elements of gabber and drone music, as well as techno beats. Shanghai producer meditates on his upcoming recording about our presentation in the public and private sphere.
𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗔 𝗬𝗜𝗡 𝗪𝗢𝗡𝗚 [dj set, PAN/Modern Love]
Flora Yin Wong combines ambient field recordings with club rhythms. The London-born artist was originally drawn to analogue techno music and only later started experimenting with an electronic palette of sound. You can enjoy her live set in Punctum venue the day before ŠELEST in Fuchs2.
