Experimental sounds from Latin America, deconstructed club or sprawling techno? Tenth edition
edition of the club night, Shelest, will once again focus on genres coming out of South America and much more. The tempo this time will be led by Tayhana, a central figure of the Club Latinx genre. Opening the night will be the unbridled energy of Miss Carriage, and post-club masters Vermilion and BoLs/sLoB are set to perform a b2b set. See you at Planet Za on April 12th.
Tayhana is a DJ, producer and founder of one of the most radical parties in South America, rethinking the continent’s indigenous music. With her aggressive way of playing, fearless mixing of different rhythms, BPMs and experimental sounds, she has managed to fuse urban and traditional music of her homeland. Tayhana has attracted the attention of artists such as Rosalía, Daniela Lalita, Mare and Gaika. Her first album Tierra del Fuego, according to the platform Couvre x Chefs, ranges between “cool brooding and hot seductiveness”.
Vermilion delivers a unique blend of her own unreleased tracks and mixes consisting of dystopian synths interwoven with elements of genres such as deconstructed club, trance, screamo and witch house. Central to her sets are distorted female voices and screams that add a layer of fury to the romanticized gothic aesthetic.
Miss Carriage’s sets tend to be a wild and unpredictable mix of mainstream and alternative sounds. Expect guaracha, techno, trance and a generous
BoLs/sLoB’s work is inspired by the UK post-club scene and modern avant-garde electronica, as well as being influenced by the sound of PC Music. Genre shifts, dynamic rhythm and energetic performances have found their way from his live sets to the dancefloor.
