The surreal worlds of Slauson Malone 1 and Rachika Nayar come together at the Studio Hrdinů.
Creations that push and blur the boundaries between instrumental and electronic music, atmospheric melodies and unexplored spaces of the sonic world. Exclusively to Prague’s Studio Hrdinů on November 15, a pair of artists exploring surreal sound worlds – New York-based producer Slauson Malone 1 and Brooklyn-based musician Rachika Nayar.
Rachika Nayar’s work plays with ambient sensibilities and electronic maximalism, blending and transforming the sounds of acoustic and electric guitar with unexpected ease. On last year’s album Heaven Come Crashing, the follow-up to her successful debut Our Hands Against the Dust, she doesn’t abandon her contemplative approach, but takes to the emotions of the dancefloor and deepens her perceptive approach to music.
Jasper Marsalis aka Slauson Malone 1’s work straddles the line between experimental hip-hop and ambient electronica, but also takes elements of free jazz or lo-fi to build colourful soundscapes. Themes of identity, emotional experience and big social issues are heard here, accompanied by unique melodies, giving rise to profound experiences. In addition, Slauson Malone 1 is one of the four curators of this year’s Le Guess Who? and his Prague show will be one of the few concerts on this year’s tour that will take place outside of established festivals.
Tickets are available at Goout for 450 CZK.
