Mark william lewis exists in a space defined by classical writing, ambient, left field pop and indie rock. He manages to squeeze both heaviness and intimacy into his brooding lyrics, and from the hazy outlines of his poetic texts emerges a path along which he walks, surrounded by everyday pain, in search of peace and fulfilment. The London-based singer-songwriter comes to the Bike_Jesus club on 11 October, directed by the Heartnoize collective.

Mark william lewis debuted in 2023 with Living, an album that takes listeners on a meditative walk through lewis’ dream world, where small observations, confessions and big questions about life itself meet. There’s so much violence/So much stress/When you get obsessed, he confesses in just one of the record’s emotional highlights on the track Coming. “It’s not entirely clear if [Lewis] is asking from a position of contentment or not – if he thinks things can and will get better, or if he’ll always feel the way he does now. This idea is repeated throughout the song and never leads to any resolution. Still, Lewis continues on – the only way he thinks we can find answers is to just keep living,” Pitchfork reviews the two-year-old record. This year’s Tomorrow is Perfect is the first single from the new album, which Lewis will bring to Prague in the autumn.
