Heartnoize Promotion & Landmine Alert present:
The multimedia group of Canadian apostates, in which musicians, artists or filmmakers have found refuge, will head to the Czech Republic for the first time on May 25.
The Vancouver group Crack Cloud, formed in 2016 around singer and drummer Zach Choy, has seven members in the basic line-up. However, within the creative community, which has its own philosophy and visual identity, other enthusiasts and collaborators (or siblings, for example) join them in various ways. A shared spirit and a common destiny, which in the case of many Crack Cloud members includes the effort to get rid of substance addictions.
According to Albumoftheyear, which summarizes critical responses, the album was among the top 20 in 2020.
“The path of sound, which reflects the one the team embarks on in real life, is unsettling, joyful and cataclysmic to listen to at Pain Olympics, ranging from claustrophobia and fear to stunning expressions of joy,” says the NME portal.
The current sound mixing the influences of jazz or hip-hop into post-punk collage is thus based on collective experience. “In a world where everything is so polarizing and immediately analyzed and labeled, the purity of one’s own instincts is necessary, even if it is the darkest,” comments Zach Choy for the Full Moon magazine.
“The will to explore these nooks and the effort to rationalize them is rooted in art, we all share it in Crack Cloud and we also practice it. What we have in common, what you can call our story, is the strengthening of DIY ethics in the arts and the motivation of the community around us to create.”
Tickets to the world of crackcloud community are available on the Goout network for CZK 350.
