Memories of dusk. Claire Rousay returns to Prague, this time to Winternitz Villa.
Emoambient and sonic diaries that recall the past in a new and different way. Canadian-American experimental musician Claire Rousay returns to Prague, this time to the unusual venue of Winternitz Villa. On her latest album, A Little Death, familiar and blurred sounds merge together, searching for new forms and meanings – whether in tones or words. This time, Rousay worked primarily with recordings made at dusk, so the songs move with them in the space between day and night. The concert will take place on April 15, directed by Heartnoize.
Claire Rousay has been recording intimate and everyday moments since her adolescence. With her latest album, a little death, the sentiment of the more song-oriented compositions returns to older methods of working with samples, and field recordings develop into rich compositions. Claire Rousay’s music has shifted from confessional to conversational, inviting us with open arms to enter her sonic living room.
The experimental musician is coming to Prague after two years, this time bringing a piano with her for an intimate concert.
The event will take place in the functionalist Winternitz Villa, which was built in the 1930s according to a design by architect Adolf Loos and is known primarily for its unusual interior layout, carefully selected materials, and custom-made built-in furniture. During the evening, visitors will have the opportunity to view the parts of the villa that are open to the public.
