CLAIRE ROUSAY + ADELA MEDE

APRIL 12 2022 AT 19:30 | ATRIUM NA ŽIŽKOVĚ [PRAGUE]

Heartnoize Promotion & Atrium in Žižkov present:

“I’ve basically been recording my whole life,” Claire Rousay, an established composer, told the New York Times in Texas. Her Czech concert premiere will show that ambient can also look like pages ripped from a personal diary full of details, as written by music publicist Jiří Špičák. Together with the Slovak-Hungarian experimental musician Adela Mede, she will perform on April 12 in the Atrium in Žižkov.

On her many albums, graduate percussionist Claire Rousay has collaborated with composers more eaze and Lisa Cameron, for example, with the first on this year’s album Never Stop Texting Me, she got bogged down in hyperpop waters. A representative of the current holistic approach of the American ambient scene will come to us directly from the dramaturgically refined Rewire festival in the Netherlands.

Pitchfork also praised last year’s albums An Afternoon Whine, along with A Softer Focus, when they paused to discuss the composer’s work with sound: discarded. The song diluted dreams shows the wind […] and the quiet noise that evokes emotions in everyone who has ever called outside on a particularly fresh early evening. ”

In her work, the musician Adela Mede models minimalist landscapes of sound, in which she explores intimacy and spirituality with the help of instruments and vocal expression combining English, Hungarian and Slovak.
