ffo: Tirzah, Moin, Caroline

Being together and alone at the same time, in songs and stories. London-based musician feeo works with performance, the written word, and layered production to tell stories about the desolate landscape of human relationships in the British capital. With her debut album Goodness, on which she composes drone, ambient, and experimental electronica into impressionistic assemblages, she will arrive at Kino Petrohradská on April 8.

feoo is a solo project by vocalist and creator Theodora Laird, who has performed alongside musicians such as Tirzah and Mica Levi and is part of the duo Corsspiece. Her original work is based on ethereal vocals, layered samples, and unexpected transitions between captivating melodies and glitch.

In her everyday experiences, she seeks contrasts between feelings of loneliness and closeness, which she reflects in fragile yet firmly anchored tracks. “Goodness is not strictly a noise album; like feeo’s previous work, it emphasizes the emotional power of her voice and her subtle sense of melody—often by reducing everything around her to a bare minimum, as if she were leaning over a table covered with pencil shavings and eraser crumbs,” Pitchfork reviews the recording.

The evening will open with Eva Sajanová’s solo project – holé baby. Sajanová is involved in music, film, and sound. She was a member of the band God and Eve and is now releasing her debut EP Tajnosty under the name Infant Tree. The simple, repetitive lyrics are based on a wide variety of references and surprise listeners with their disturbing, ironic content. Acoustic instruments intertwine with electronic ones and are complemented by archival recordings from a telephone.
