DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, WE’RE ADDING ANOTHER SHOW AT 4:00 PM ❗️🐎
Clippings from glossy magazine pages, wild collages of themes and melodies. Geordie Greep is coming to Prague with *The New Sound*, his first solo album since black midi’s breakup. At times grandiose melodies and jazz madness, at others atmospheric jams and tenderly told stories. Last year’s album moves between polyrhythms and alt-pop motifs.
A new era and a new sound. On The New Sound, British musician Geordie Greep embarks on a wild journey into the world of music and the twists and turns of how changeable it can be. The album from two years ago was created on two continents, partly in Brazil, where local musicians contributed to its recording. The recording retains the raw energy of jamming, dynamically jumping between whispers and bursts of energy.
The listener finds themselves in cafés, cabarets, and strange museums, amidst improbable stories where parody and preaching merge. “The main theme of the album is hopelessness; someone who convinces themselves they have everything under control, but in reality they don’t,” adds Greep.
